    The Mission of TWS is to guide clients to achievement of total emotional wellness through mind body approaches and holistic health practices.  TWS’s commitment to total growth also extends to fellow mental health professionals through the provision of high-quality continuing education events, mentorship, and consultation opportunities. 

    Meet The Owner

    Alexis Young, LCSW

     

    Alexis Young is a licensed clinical social worker who has worked for over 15 years in the state, federal, and non profit arenas serving children, adults, and families in the areas of crisis and trauma intervention, adjustment to illness issues, depression and anxiety management, and non profit program development. 

    Alexis obtained both a BSW and MSW from Grambling State University and is a certified clinical trauma practitioner  In 2018, Alexis founded Therapeutic Wellness Solutions, LLC which serves  gen z, millennial, and gen x persons who are looking to heal through holistic approaches such as brain body connections and nutrition  specific interventions for mental health.    Alexis has been afforded the opportunity to share the benefits of mindfulness to manage anxiety and depression with professionals, educators and helping professionals at institutions such as Southern University Law Center, Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services, and LA Head Start Programs. 

    Alexis is currently in her second term of a governor appointed seat on the Louisiana Rehabilitation Council which ensures fair and equitable access to vocational rehabilitation services for persons with disabilities.  Alexis serves  on the executive committee as the chair of the eligibility and planning committee of this council.  Alexis is also a member of the Louisiana Assistive Technology Advisory Council which ensures access to assistive technology for persons with disabilities across the state of LA.

    Alexis is passionate about helping clients and professionals alike to experience improved quality of life by creating pathways to healing, fulfillment  and success by incorporating both the mind and the body.

        1.) Safety   Emotional and physical safety are a priority at TWS.  Safety planning and risk assessments are a part of the ongoing therapeutic process at TWS

       2.)  Trustworthiness – Sharing intimate details of one’s journey can be challenging.  All sessions will be conducted via a HIPPA compliant platform to ensure all information remains confidential All sessions will follow a predictable structured flow so that clients can know what to expect in session.

      3.)   Choice – Clients will always have the power of choice as it pertains to session focus, treatment planning, and duration of therapeutic Intervention.

      4.)   Collaboration – All steps of therapy will be collaborative and client Centered.

      5,)    Empowerment- After establishing safety and trust, the client and Psychotherapist will use the collaborative approach to identify current Strengths that will serve as the foundation for healthier coping Strategies and improved quality of life.
